What motivates you to keep fighting for the issues you care about?

I have the feeling that the most vulnerable people are usually the ones with more barriers to fight for their rights. That is why I believe that everybody should fight against injustices and defend human rights in every aspect of life that we can. For me, fighting for women’s rights everyday helps create a global mindset for respecting women all over the world.

Can you share one barrier to women’s economic empowerment that you think is overlooked or not adequately prioritized? In your opinion, what needs to happen to accelerate the pace of change?

Having more female leaders that girls can look up to as we grow up is essential. Although there has been a great improvement having more women in important positions in public life, I think this is something that we should never take for granted and continue striving for more.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with fellow women that are aiming to shatter the glass ceiling in the business world?

Even though I am still early in my professional career, I have learned that one of the most helpful things to grow professionally is having other female mentors to accompany you on your career journey. It doesn’t matter whether you find your mentor within your company or outside, having women leaders in your life that can guide you using their personal experience can be very powerful. Women and men are equal, but the experiences we live are different because of a society that still believes in gender stereotypes, creating barriers for women that men never face. Having by your side women that have overcome those barriers that you can now learn from from is the best help you can get.
